∑ The Math: Reverse Alpha Blending
Alpha compositing is how Gemini overlays its watermark. Given a watermark pixel W, an alpha value α, and the original background B, the composited result C is:
By knowing C (the image you downloaded), W (the known Gemini watermark pixels), and estimating α, we can solve for the original background exactly: B = (C − W × α) / (1 − α). This is deterministic and pixel-perfect — not an approximation.

Known Limitations
- •Only the visible Gemini overlay is removed — SynthID cryptographic watermarks cannot be removed by any browser tool.
- •Very low-alpha watermark regions (near-transparent edges) may show minor artifacts.
- •Non-standard Gemini outputs or heavily compressed images may produce less precise results.
- •Video processing time depends on length and resolution — large files may take several minutes in-browser.
